  • MEC has received Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility from the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAM). This will allow MEC to file bids under Chapter 149, Section 44A.
  • MEC receives Gold ABC National Safety Excellence Award. The ABC National Safety Excellence Awards recognize companies whose safety performance and programs are judged to be exemplary by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety Committee and companies who exhibit a continued commitment to jobsite safety.
  • Shire, a global specialty biopharmaceutical company, awards MEC Technologies the Tel-Data/Security Cabling Contract for their new building in Lexington, MA. This 130,000 square foot project is expected to be completed in six months.
  • MEC Electrical successfully completes the first phase of the Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades at Lowell General Hospital. This complex project consisted of replacing the hospitals aging main electrical switchgear, bringing two new 15KV services to the site, installing a new 1.5 MW generator, load bank, paralleling gear and an interconnection to the hospitals existing emergency system. In addition, this project included adding on to an existing fire pump house and changing from an electric fire pump to a diesel fire pump. The main goal of this project was to keep the hospital up and running during construction, and was successfully achieved do to the dedication of all MEC, LGH and subcontractor team members. MEC acted as prime contractor on this project.
  • MEC Electrical completes phases one through seven for Constant Contact's headquarters in Waltham. This project was started in June 2009 and consisted of 130,000 square feet of class A office space. J. Calnan & Associates was the construction manager.
  • MEC adds to its team Paul Marasco as Senior Estimator. Paul brings 25 plus years of previous experience in estimating commercial and industrial projects in the one million to five million dollar range. Paul has been recognized by the Massachusetts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for his involvement with successful projects such as the University of Hartford ISET Building and Genzyme Central Utility Plant located in Framingham, MA.
